The Stockholm syndrome appears when an abused victim, develops a kind of respect and empathy towards to abuser. It was named after a bank robbery in Stockholm
When a group of bank employee were held hostage and developled a strong sense of empathy towards their captors...
When this traumatic event was over, they even defender by not wanting to say anything that might endanger their captors freedom.
This actually happen because victim sees the smallest act of decent behaviour as an extracted event which makes them see their captors as essentially good .
This way they leave aside all the negative behavioral of their captors and Focus on positive ones.
This syndrome also called traumatic bonding or victim's brainwashing
Why Stockholm syndrome called that
The name of the syndromeis derived from a botched bank robbery in Stockholm, Sweden. In August 1973 four employees of Sveriges Kreditbank were held hostage in the bank's vault for six days. During the standoff, a seemingly incongruous bond developed between captive and captor.
